We recently stayed at Villa Chui for one week. The pictures do not do justice to this home. It is spacious, clean, comfortable with impressive views of Tivoli, St. Peter's Basilica on a clear day, and even Villa Adriana, ruins of Emperor Hadrian! Tivoli is charming with its old town and interesting historic sites. The proximity to Rome is wonderful. The driver, Michele, recommended by Nicola, provided our airport transports, as well as drives into Rome and the surrounding areas. He was more than a driver. We consider him our new friend. He had a wealth of information to share about the area and attractions and taught us about Italian culture and even some Italian! Palma and Umberto became our new friends as well. Palma's meals are authentic Italian cuisine and a welcome after a day of sightseeing. Umberto helped us with directions and obtaining our car. Nicola is responsive to your needs. We had two in our party who had food allergies. He ensured our meals were safe and his mother even provided some homemade desserts for our son to enjoy. He immediately made you feel at home, as though you were members of his extended family. We would highly recommend this villa especially for anyone traveling with extended family. It is a home that allows you to enjoy all Rome has to offer, yet you can escape from the city to your own private paradise!

The pictures and description do not do it justice. Villa Chui is a warm, inviting, comfortable, spacious, fun, charming family home where memories of their history are present everywhere. From the 'trophy room' to the sculptures and from coffee in town with Nicola's father to walking the town -- there is so much to take in. The family's hospitality is over the top -- from the welcome basket to the wine cellar and baked treats from the mother and recommendations for dinner. They help ensure your stay is just perfect. One recommendation -- ditch your car and hire Michele to pick you up at the airport and drive you everywhere (he is amazing!) Our time at Villa Chui and in Tivoli was fantastic!

Villa Chui is every bit as beautiful as it looks in the pictures on the website, sitting atop a hill overlooking Tivoli, Hadrian's villa and St Peter's Basilica in the distance. It provides the perfect combination of proximity to Rome for sightseeing and the opportunity to just relax by the pool when desired. From our first contact with Nicola via email, through his assistance in planning the trip before our arrival and with his continuous attention during our stay, he could not have been more responsive or accommodating to our every need. Since we had decided not to rent a car(s) for our group of seven, Nicola helped arrange transfers to/from the airport, Tivoli and Rome when needed. Although we didn't use it, there was also easy access to the train into Rome if desired. In addition, Nicola put us in touch with an excellent local tour guide, who took us on two days of tours of Rome and one day to Florence and wine country - a great way to get the most out of our limited time! At our request, Nicola organized an informal wine tasting our first night at Villa Chui, together with his father and brother (his mother, who could not be there, made delicious desserts for us to enjoy). Not only was this a great introduction to Italian wines, but to Nicola and his family as well. It was like they were old friends! Palma and Umberto are special people who not only take care of Villa Chui, but who took special care of our family while we were there. Palma prepared a delicious, 'traditional Italian meal' (4 courses!) for our first night, which led to our request for her services at the end of each of our sightseeing days. Each meal was unique, thoroughly enjoyable and the perfect ending to a perfect day! I could go on, but by now you probably understand that we would highly recommend Villa Chui to anyone looking for a similar experience. While the sights and history of Rome and Tivoli are truly amazing, it was our new friendships and the sharing of this beautiful villa that made this a truly unique and memorable experience for our family.
Villa Chui was everything we expected - and much more! Bob - California & World June 2012
Nicola is the most accomodating host in the world and Palma & Umberto who are on site are there for everything you might need! Palma's meals are fabulous - highly varied and innovative. We very much enjoyed meeting Nicola's family and they were everything that you might expect, equally hospitable and helpful. Our family group of 13 came from South africa, the U.S. East Coast and West Coast and ranged in age from 13 to 85. We all had a wonderful time!! Only problem is that I, the 85 year old, on our last day experienced an atrial fibrillation without any prior symptoms. Palma had an ambulance at the villa quickly and I spent a day and a night in the Tivoli hospital which took good care of me. Nicola, no surprise, was friendly with the chief cardiologist who was very helpful. Got me stabilized and permitted us to spend a "rest" day in a comfortable hotel rather than confining me to the hospital. They then transferred me to the airport Hilton Hotel located right at the FCO airport while we waited for an Alitalia non stop from Rome to lax. Upon arriving home turns out that in addition to heart issues I had pneumonia in both lungs. After a lengthy recovery I'm back to normal - but Nicola called and followed up on my progress both while I was at the Rome airport and subsequently after I returned home. I consider him a friend and a good one. Everything about the Villa is a joy, but especially the people!

I have been terribly remiss in not writing heaping praises for Villa Chui until now. My extended family and I stayed here for a week in June 2012 and it was absolutely magnificent. The home is warm, welcoming, lush, and was truly a haven for our travel group of 13, who ranged in ages from 13-85. Our host, Nicola, and his family could not have made us feel any more welcome. The rest of his family (father, sister, brother-in-law, and their two enchanting children) even drove in from Rome one morning to have cappuccinos with us in the Tivoli town square. I'm from the States and live in the South where we have a reputation for uncanny hospitality. That said, I have never experienced such hospitality and warmth from a host as from Nicola and his wonderful family. As I mentioned, the actual facility is immaculate. It's very spacious so no one was tripping over one another -- and in a group of thirteen people, that can be difficult at times! There are many different living spaces -- from the pool, to the patio, to several living rooms and nooks. It was such a treat to be able to return from sightseeing in Rome every day and completely relax at the Villa. The housekeeper and caretaker, Palma and Umberto, respectively, could not have been any more accommodating of my family's many requests and questions. Palma's cooking was sensational and Umberto helped us master the technology around the house (Internet, appliances, etc.). I am so thankful to have gotten the opportunity to visit Villa Chui. My family is so grateful to Nicola and his family for being so accommodating and wonderful! (See review below mine...my grandfather had an unexpected medical emergency come up and you can see he had nothing but glowing praises for the attention, care, and concern he was paid!) Happy holidays to our wonderful hosts and to anyone looking for a peaceful Italian vacation, look no further than Villa Chui!!
Thank You John M. - Chicago, Ill USA
Ciao Nicola, It’s been a year since being in Italy and I'm still longing to return. Life just flashes by so quickly I wouldn’t want to bore anyone talking of my day to day activities but more so wanted to reach out to you and your family to say, Hello.” One day I will return to the villa, part of my heart lives for the villa. Visiting Italy had such a huge effect on me. When I was on that holiday I brought music along so whenever I listen to that music I smell the crisp cool September air from the villa and I can close my eyes and see Tivoli and Villa Adriana from the vantage point of the balcony. I love to cook and I'’ve found a program on TV which features a chef named David Rocco, in Firenze. I don’'t want to sound behind the times but this was a rather new discovery to me but you might be rather familiar with who he is? I really enjoy seeing the program because I get to see all the things that I remember but there is so much yet for me to explore. Again, grazie, to you and your family for opening your doors to me and my family. Ciao arrivederci
One very beautiful and enchanting villa Gabrielle - Toronto, Canada July 2011
Where does one begin to describe the beauty of Villa Chui? The location alone is breathtaking. Set high above the hills of Tivoli, the view is amazing. Hadrian's Villa directly below with Rome in the distance. Beautiful sunsets every night while dining out on the terrace. The pool was a wonderful respite to come back to after a day of touring. It was very large, clean and beautiful. It was also a wonderful place to relax for the day if you didn't feel like going out. The villa itself was large, and even though we were only a family of four, it could easily accomodate many more people. It was very clean and was exactly the way it is depicted on the website. The grounds were impeccably kept thanks to the caretaker on site as well as the maid who made sure that the interior was always spotless. The meals that were made for us were delicious and abundant. Last but not least, our host Nicola, the villa's owner, was absolutely wonderful. Very helpful in every respect. Showing us where to shop in town and also in recommending what towns we should visit that were close by. He was always just a phone call away for providing whatever it was we needed. We could not speak more highly of him. We would highly recommend the Villa Chui. It is guaranteed to be a memorable experience. We certainly would love to go back again one day.
Still Dreaming of Villa Chui! Jim, Chicago, IL USA Summer 2011
We are still dreaming about our family vacation at Villa Chui, even after several months of our departure! The house is fabulous, with incredible views of Rome. The house is immaculately kept and decorated, with very spacious rooms for an entire extended family or group of friends to gather. The home is equipped with all of the modern conveniences (screens for every window!). The home provides incredible views of Rome in the distance, we could even see St. Peter's Basilica on a clear day. The main floor plan flows nicely outside to a very large stone patio that overlooks Rome. We often gathered on this patio to eat our lunch and prosciutto and wine before dinner. The patio also has an amazing view of the sun setting over Rome. Trust me, you will watch the sunset from this patio on your 1st night and you will make sure you are back at Villa Chui every evening before dark to witness this spectacular event. We watched the sunset from this patio every night, that is, when we weren't watching the sunset from the fabulous outdoor lighted pool about 12 steps above the patio. Most of the bedrooms are on the second floor, along with multiple bathrooms that provide much privacy for your group. Villa Chui is located about 5 minutes from a commuter train and in approx. 45 minutes you can be at the steps of ancient Rome. You will definitely look forward to your return to Villa Chui at the end of the day for a dip in the pool and the amazing sunset. The owners of Villa Chui are the most charming and gracious people that you will ever meet! Nicola made us feel like old friends from the first moment that we met; he showed us around the local area, he took us shopping and we met his parents and sister's family for coffee - he even gave us a night-tour of the area on our last night in Rome - Nicola is a truly delightful and charming host! The owners checked-in on us daily to make sure we had everything we needed, and they provided extremely valuable guidance of the area during our stay. We will remember Nicola and his family with equal fondness of the incredible insights of Rome. We are extremely thankful to them for their hospitality and we look forward to seeing our new Italian friends in the future! The caretakers on the property were very helpful and they were available to take us into town for groceries or a restaurant or to assist us with local merchants if we needed an interpreter. If you want to live like Italian royalty, then this is your villa!
Villa Chui is spectacular! Anne Midwest, USA October 2010
The only thing more charming than Villa Chui itself was the owner, Nicola. We were a group of 11 adults (related) and stayed a week a Villa Chui. The property is absolutely stunning and very comfortable. We never felt crowded with the six bedrooms and 5.5 baths. There was plenty of space and privacy, and we were able to enjoy each other’s company at the large dining table with delicious meals prepared by the wonderful caretakers Palma and Umberto. Nicola and his family went out their way to make us feel welcome, and he was in touch throughout the week to help us find tour guides, suggest things to do, or anything else we might need. One evening we returned to find a delicious lasagna prepared by his Mother; on another an out-of-this world tiramisu. You will need a car at this property – it is located at the top of a hill near Tivoli – spectacular views! We took the train into Rome a few days, and on others drove to Florence and Assisi. Don’t miss nearby attractions Villa d’Este and Hadrian’s Villa (which you can see from Villa Chui!). Our only regret is that we were not there for a two-week stay. I dream of returning here, and recommend this property highly. Thank you Nicola and family for sharing your beautiful home!
Beautiful Villa Chui Bob & Karen - Pennsylvania, United Sates Summer 2010
Our recent trip to Italy was an absolutely incredible and memorable experience. While we had been to Italy before, this trip was a dream come true, in part because of beautiful Villa Chui. The accommodations were luxurious and the scenery breathtaking. We were conflicted with the choice of staying inside the villa with its warmth and charm or relaxing outside viewing Tivoli far below. We took advantage of the location to tour nearby Villa dÂ’Este and Rome. We were able to save on room accommodations in the Rome by taking the direct train from Tivoli station to the city. After a day in Rome, we returned to Villa Chui with the feeling of being home. The villa is spacious and modern and private. We utilized the open kitchen to cook dinner a few evenings. All of the ingredients and wine were purchased at local grocery stores. The owners and staff that is onsite are involved and caring. They tended to our every need during the three-week stay by our party. We could not give Villa Chui a higher recommendation for anyone planning to visit Italy for the first time or a repeat visit.
I could spent a lot more time at Villa Chui Ted, Ontario - Canada June 2010
Spectacular! You will not be disappointed. I cannot think of a better place to rent in all of Italy. It is close enough to Rome (by train or car) that you can take in all the sites, yet far enough away to feel relaxed. The location on the top of the mountain allows for beautiful views and an abundant amount of privacy. The town of Tivoli (10 minutes by car) is charming and has some wonderful sites of it's own. Villa Adriana is a must see, while Villa Gregoriana and Villa D'Este are worth your time as well. The staff at Villa Chui are very nice people and willing to help make sure your stay is a very pleasant one. I cannot say enough about the owner's; absolutely gracious. The villa itself, is fantastic. It has a large kitchen as well as large primary rooms. Sitting on the terraces is an extraordinary experience as you watch the sun go down over Rome. I certainly could spent a lot more time at Villa Chui!!! Grazie to the Pascucci's for such a memorable six weeks
September at Villa Chui Al, Virginia - United States September 2010
We found the house luxurious and its hillside location spectacular. We took the train into Rome almost daily - about an hour's trip unless you catch the 8 a.m. express - with help from the housekeeping staff, local taxis or the #6 Tivoli bus that connects the town with the hospital a short walk downhill. Our host and the housekeepers were very friendly and always helpful.

Best holiday property I ever rented. Paul, The Netherlands August 2009
We spent a very relaxing week holiday here with three couples and children. The location of the house and views are just incredible. The separate shallow area of the pool makes it perfect for small children. The house has a lot of character and all the room and amenities one needs. Very friendly owner/host and caretakers who will make an extra effort to ensure your stay will be perfect. I will definetly be coming back here. Amazing experience! Sufei, California & Malaysia Christmas 2009
This is a great house for family vacation. We had 10 adults and 5 kids. Everyone loves the house. The weather were bad when we were visiting but you can do a lot inside the house. Some played the piano, some watched TV, some were cooking, some were surfing the internet, some just laid on the cozy couches next to the fireplace. The owners were great and very friendly. They made sure we have enough food and heat in the house. The housekeepers live in the same compound but different entrance. They cleaned and filled the logs everyday. A cleaner is on time every morning to pick up our mess. It's the first time we had a cleaner to come everyday. It's great for big group like us. We get to cook our favorite food while someone would clean them later. The house is furnished with amazing sculptures and collections. It's a great experience for all of us!
